A few minutes after, G finally arrived and landed in front of V.

G: Smiling "I'm back, sorry for taking so long, i was flying around the place as fast as i could to dry myself."

V: Crossing her arms and smiling back "I noticed that.
Well, you arrived just in time, because it was so boring here, so much that Uzi went to sleep."

G: "Oh, she's sleeping, i should've expected that.
So, it's just me and you, huh? What could we even do to pass the night? I was thinking of just taking a walk around here."

V: "Hmm… sure, I'd like to do that, flying becomes boring after a while."

G: "Let's go then."

The two began to walk around the abandoned and destroyed city, they both stayed silent, until V gently held G's hand and looked away nervously, but to her surprise, G left her grip after just a few seconds.

G: Looking at V confused "Uhm… that was very romantic of you."

V: Looking at G embarrassed "Yeah, b-but, it's not a problem if we do it, right?"

G: "Well, it kinda is, because I'm dating Uzi and i don't want to act romantic with another woman."

V: Widening her eyes in shock "Wait, you and Uzi are dating? I mean, it was obvious that it would happen eventually, hehe, silly me."
Forcing a smile "I'm so happy for both of you, I'm sure you'll have a great future together."

G: smiling genuinely "Thanks for the support, it means a lot to me, you know?"

V: "No problem, i never mind supporting my good ol' friend."

V leaned G on her and rubbed his hair, which he responded to by playfully pushing her away.

G: Smoothing his hair "Stop it, you silly, hehe."

V: Playfully rolling her eyes "Fine, but this won't be the last time I'll do it, so always watch your back."

G: "Why are you so playful right now, huh? I thought that you were scared of me, ohhh!"

V: "You're still thinking about that? Jeez, i said that like six minutes ago i think, move on already."

G: "I'll do my best, hehehe… sigh… I've never had so much fun before."

V: Looking a bit surprised "Really? That's impossible, I'm sure you had some better moments in the past."

G: "Nah, my life on Earth was just…"
Looking away with a sad expression "Humanity sucks…"

V's playful act quickly turned into slight concern after seeing G's quick change in emotion and she put a supportive hand on his shoulder.

V: "Hey, it's okay, you don't live there anymore."

G: "I know, but, the memories, the traumas, i just can't forget about them…"

V: "…Is this why you care so much about worker drones or robots in general? Because they're better than humans in your opinion?"

G: "…I… yes. I've always had a soft spot for robots like you… i just can't help, but feel bad for them, they don't deserve the torture they need to go through every day…"

G turned around to look at the dead body of Erik laying motionless in the snow, V followed his gaze, still feeling a bit disturbed at the sight of the dead human.

V: "Does he have something to do with your soft spot for robot?"

G: "Yeah… he's one of the reasons i want to protect worker drones so badly… i guess I'll tell you why if you really want to know.
Let's sit down first."

V and G sat in front of each other, with G looking very serious about this topic and V willing to know about a piece of his past.

G: "So, it all started when the founder of JcJenson invited me and other employees to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary."

1 YEAR AGO.
David walked inside the Elliot's massive mansion, he was still a human at the time, just a young adult with brown smooth hair, dark-blue eyes, who was wearing fancy clothes, just like every other person inside the building.
He was a bit nervous, since he was the youngest employee, but he tried to ignore that thought and sat on the nearest couch to try and distance himself from everyone.
Unfortunately for David, Jessica sat next to him, holding a glass of red wine with one hand while having a smirk on her face.

Jessica: "Who do we have here, the company's favorite child, haha.
I mean, how old are you anyways?"

David: Looking annoyed "Sigh… I'm twenty years old…"

Jessica: "pfft! Don't make me laugh, your dumb ass is working for a company as big as JcJenson at such a young age? How about you go work as a cashier instead?"

David: "Yeah yeah, you're just jealous that James gives more recognition to me than to you."

Jessica: "Bingo! I'm not even gonna try to hide it this time, you're absolutely right."

David: "Woo hoo… your husband's compliments aren't enough, are they?"

Jessica gets angry and slaps David behind his head.

Jessica: "Don't talk about my beloved, Erik, you freak."

David: Rubbing the back of his head gently "Okay okay, sorry."

Jessica: "Yeah, you better.
Hmph! I don't know how he still hasn't fired you."

David rolled his eyes in frustration, before walking away without saying a word.

Jessica: "Finally, he left." Yelling at a worker drone in butler clothes nearby "Hey, you! Bring me another glass of red wine."

Meanwhile, David walked inside the large main hall, that was full of circular tables, he sat down on the same table where James's daughter, Tessa Elliot, was sitting.
She was reading a book and didn't notice David at first, until she raised her head for a second and her eyes quickly widened in shock after seeing him.

Tessa: "Oh my- D-David Harrison?."

David: Chuckling at Tessa's reaction "Yes, it's me and you must be Tessa, right?."

Tessa: "Yup, that's right… Uhm.. wow, i feel like I'm talking to a celebrity right now, my dad has told me that you're the best employee JcJenson ever had."

David: "Heh, what's this voice about me that spread around? I'm not that good, am i?"

Tessa: "Not that good? Everyone says that you build the best worker drones ever and that you should start a personal business.
I think you should listen to their advice."

David: "No, thanks, i have more important things to think about."

Tessa: Looking very interested "Like?"

David: "None of your business, silly."

Tessa: Pretending to be sad "Aww…"

Suddenly, a noise sounding like metal falling on the floor was heard in the distance, David turned around and saw that Erik killed a butler worker drone with his own hands.
No one was interested about what just happened, like it's a normal thing for everyone.

David: Feeling bad for the killed drone "Jeez, why do people have to kill worker drones? It's literally psychopathic behavior."

Tessa: "I'm with you here, it's just wasted money, these things cost a lot."

David: Looking at Tessa confused "You're thinking about money? I think about the drones' mental state after seeing such thing or how much they have to suffer when they get brutally killed for doing a minor mistake."

Tessa: Raising an eyebrow in curiosity "You see worker drones as people? That's kind of dumb, they're just robots."

David: "They're more than robots, Tessa. People just don't see it."

Tessa: Looking a bit confused "…Now i see why they call you weird."

David: Looking frustrated "I'm not weird…"

Their discussion was interrupted by Erik yelling angrily at a maid worker drone, who was looking back and forth at him and the dead worker drone on the floor with a traumatized expression.
Everyone was still careless about the entire situation.

Erik: "So, what are you waiting for!? Clean this mess before someone slips on it."

???: "I-i… i…"

Erik: Clenching his fists and taking a step forward towards the maid drone "I see… you're just as useless, huh? Then you'll be thrown away too."

???: Backing away "W-wait.. wait..!"

Erik tried to punch the maid drone in the face, but David came just in time and pulled the scared robot away.
The crowd was now very interested on what has just happened and Erik was shocked by David's action.

Erik: "David, what are you doing?"

David: Keeping the maid drone behind him "Sorry, boss, but i can't let you kill another innocent person."

Everyone gasped in shock and some started gossiping about the current situation.

Erik: "Did you just call that piece of junk a… person?"

David: "You heard me right."

Erik: "…You-… Sigh… you're insane, David, you don't know what you're saying-"

David: "Shut up!"

David punched Erik in the face, making him fall on the floor, he then kneed down on top of him and started punching him repeatedly while looking the angriest he's ever been, this gave the chance to the maid drone to flee.
James Elliot quickly arrived to stop the situation by forcefully pulling David away from Erik and taking him away to talk in private.
Jessica ran towards Erik, concerned, before yelling at David angrily.

Jessica: "PIECE OF SHIT, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS!? YOU DESERVE TO DIE.
SOMEONE KILL HIM!"

James let go David after taking him into a hallway, both looking angry for their own reasons.

James: "David, what the fuck is wrong with you!?"

David: "Go away, this is none of your business."

James: "No, i can't just let you kill someone, calm down and tell me what happened."

David took a deep breath to calm down, but his hands were still a bit shaky.

David: "I'm just tired of everyone treating worker drones like objects.
They're people just like us and we're here killing and giving them unnecessary traumas."

James: Sighing in frustration "Oh my god… how many times do we have to tell you.
Worker drones aren't like us, all their reactions and their emotions are fake and you should know that, you build them every day as your job."

David: "You're only saying that because they're not organic beings and because they're built and not born."

James: "What does that mean- o-okay, you know what? I won't report you to the police and I'll try to convince Erik to not fire you only because you're our best employee, but you'll stay here for a few minutes, i don't want to imagine what could happen if you go back to the main hall now."

David: "Sigh… fine."

James: "Thank you, David."

James came back to the main hall, where two butler drones were cleaning the dead robot while trying to act mindless and Erik was sitting on one of the many seats, with Jessica and some of his friends on his side.

James: Looking concerned "Are you alright, Erik?"

Erik: Rubbing his head in pain "Yeah, but my head hurts… that motherfucker his stronger than he looks."

James: "Sorry about that, i should've kept a better eye on him."

Jessica: Looking at James "Where is he? I'll kill that asshole I'm so tired of him."

James: Gesturing Jessica to calm down "Calm down, Jessica, don't make the situation worse."

Jessica: "I want to end the situation, not make it worse.
I can't believe he beat up my husband to protect a meaningless object."

James: "I know that it's an unusual thing to do, but please understand, David is likely mentally ill and we just have to adapt to that unfortunately."

Meanwhile, David was just sitting on the floor in the middle of the hallway, all alone with no one that wants to help him in any way.
He was getting tired of waiting, so he stood up and decided to wander beyond the hallway.
As he was exploring, he heard the noise of someone crying coming from what looked like to be the kitchen room, so he walked inside and saw the same maid drone, with short and curly light-gray hair, he saved earlier having a mental breakdown on the floor.
The drone didn't notice David at first, until he took a step forward, making his presence known.
The maid robot was surprised, but also relieved to see him and she stopped crying for a moment.

???: "Oh, it's you luckily…"

David: "Yes, no need to be scared."

David sat next to the sad drone with a concerned expression and put a hand on her back.
The innocent robot was surprised by his kindness, but didn't show it.

David: "That moment is still affecting you?"

???: "Kind of… but, it's mainly for another reason."
Pointing at a tall cake sitting on the kitchen table "They tasked me to bring that cake and i should do it right now actually.. but, it's too heavy for me and i don't know what to do!"
Hiding her face in her hands while shaking in panic "This is the end of me, I'm doomed, but i don't want to die…!"

David looked at the cake for a few seconds, until he got an idea and looked at the maid drone with a smile.

David: "I'll bring the cake for you then."

???: Looking at David shocked "R-really? But, what if they see me as weak or lazy and they kill me anyway?"

David: "I'll make up a lie to make you look like an hardworking person, okay?"

???: "O-okay…"

The maid drone stared at the floor in silence for a few seconds, before looking back at David in slight confusion.

???: "Why are you being so nice to me? I don't understand… you should be yelling or killing me."

David: Chuckling softly "You see, I'm not like the others, because i think that robots like you don't deserve such treatment.
I see you as a person, not as an object."

???: "…Oh, i see… i never met someone like you before, you're really special.
What's your name?"

David: "You can call me, David.
What about you?"

???: "Oh, they didn't give me a name, they just call me, maid…"

David: His smile fades a bit "Hmm, i see… then how about we give you one? It's going to be your super secret name, only me and you will know."

???: Widening her eyes in interest and smiling excitedly "Yes, I'd love to.
What do you think of… huhhh.. Olivia?"

David: Rubbing his chin "Hmm… doesn't fit well in my opinion… what about, Sophie?"

???: Widening her smile and gasping in excitement "Yes, i love that one! I want to be called like that."

David: Caressing her head "Hehe, okay, Sophie it is."

Sophie never felt more happy in her entire life, as being able to befriend a human was something she thought to be impossible.
Suddenly, James's voice was heard in the distance.

James: "David! You can come back now, everything has been resolved."

David: Whispering to Sophie "Alright, just stay behind me, okay?"

Sophie nodded and they both quickly stood up.
David took the cake and walked outside the kitchen with Sophie following behind him, but they soon came face to face with James, who looked quiet confused.

David: Faking a smile "Here i am, James."

James: "I noticed that… why are you bringing the 10th anniversary cake? It isn't your job to do that."

David: "Oh, i just wanted to help your little maid here, she's so passionate for her job, you know? We were arguing on who should bring the cake, but i just ignored her and took it myself."

James glanced at Sophie staring right back at him with a nervous smile, before glancing back at David.

James: "I see, I'm happy to hear that she's trying her best, but at this point i think that you can bring the cake instead.
Come on then, everyone's waiting for you."

James walked towards the main hall, David and Sophie looked at each other, feeling relieved that the lie worked and they started walking towards the main hall next to each other.

V didn't know how to feel after G finished telling about his past, it was a big mix of shock, anger, sadness and happiness.

V: "Oh. My. God."

G: Chuckling at V's reaction "It's a lot, i know."

V: Looking at Erik's dead body "Well, i can understand why you killed him now, it was deserved."

G: "Thank you for understanding me, at least i didn't tell you this entire story for nothing."

V: "…But, this makes me wonder, if you care so much for robots, then why were you killing them so brutally at the time? You know, when we just landed on Copper-9 and we didn't know each other."

G: Looking guilty and sad "You're hitting a sensitive spot here, but i only killed worker drones to blend in with you, N and J, so you wouldn't have suspected anything, but… i-it was so painful having to kill innocent worker drones for no real reason…"

Feeling bad for him, V crawled closer to G and patted his shoulder gently.

V: "Don't think too much about it, at least they're in a better place."
Looking around "Much better than this depressing planet for sure."

G: Looking at V with a small smile "Heh, you're right."

V smiled back and everything seemed to be alright now, but G's happy expression slowly turned into confusion when he noticed something or someone behind her, A very tall, skinny and deformed figure with the head of a worker drone standing completely still like a statue in the dark in the middle of two buildings.

V: Raising an eyebrow in confusion "G, are you okay?"

G: "Who is that behind you?"

V turned around, but she didn't see anything or anyone.

V: "Where? I don't see anyone."

G: Pointing at the two buildings "There, right in the middle of those two buildings."

V: "Huhhh… there is literally no one there, G.
You must be hallucinating."

G: Scratching his head in confusion

V: Looking at G "This entire topic about humans and worker drones is tiring you, we should get you to your landing pod."

G: "Yeah, i really should… what about J and N?"

V: "I'll take care of them, don't worry about that now tho, let's go."

G and V stood up and started walking towards the landing pods.
The next morning.
Uzi slowly woke up from her sleep, she did her usual morning routine: change her clothes, drink oil and going outside to hopefully spend her day in a good way.
She smiled and started walking towards her mom's bunker to do her a quick visit, but after just a minute of walking, she saw a news reporter near the dead body of Erik.
Uzi wasn't surprised at all, since she saw this coming, so she just walked past the scene, but mid-way the reporter and the cameraman approached her, which caused her to internally panic.

???: "Hi, you must be G's girlfriend, right?"

Uzi: "U-uhm- yes, it's me.. hi."

???: "Nice to meet you.
Do you by any chance know who that dead human right there is?"

Uzi didn't want to give the true context of what happened last night, so she quickly thought of a lie.

Uzi: "Huh… yes, he was someone that worker for JcJenson."

???: Acting surprised "JcJenson you say? How do you know that?"

Uzi: "Last night a.. space rocket landed here and.. the company's logo was drawn on the rocket."

???: "That's shocking to know, why did they sent people here?"

Uzi: "I don't know, but, i know that two humans came here and G killed one of them… the dude over there… the other one returned to Earth in fear."

???: "I see."
Looking at the camera "Looks like G is facing JcJenson too at the cost of protecting this planet."
Looking at Uzi again "Thank you for sharing this information to us, Ms.Uzi."

Uzi: "Uhm… no problem."

The news reporter and the cameraman walked away while still being on live TV, Uzi sighed in relief that the conversation ended.

Uzi: "God, I'll need to get used to these interviews coming out of nowhere.
I bet mom will say something about me being on TV…"

Uzi finally reached the bunker where she once lived, she felt a slight sense of nostalgia despite experiencing many traumas inside this building.
She stepped inside and various people around greeted her, which left her confused.

Uzi: "Huh… hi everyone?"

???: "Hey, Uzi, we were waiting to see you again."

Uzi: "What? Why? I thought that you didn't even know my name.
Am i seriously so much popular only because I'm G's girlfriend?"

???: "Well… yeah…"

Uzi: Looking surprised and slightly annoyed "Yippee, i guess… where's my mom by the way?"

???: "Nori? She's in the storage room right now."

Uzi: "Thanks."

Uzi approached the bunker's storage and saw Nori walking out of it in the distance.
Uzi decided to stop and see how much it'll take for her mom to notice her, which took just a few seconds.
Nori walked towards Uzi with a big smile on her face.

Nori: "Uzi, what a surprise seeing you here."

Uzi: Smiling back "Hi, mom, i just wanted to make a quick visit, i really missed you these days."

Nori: Gasping in happiness "Oh, i missed you too, Uzi.
This is such a nice gesture coming from you, i feel like i could pass out at any moment."
Pointing at a random worker drone "Hey, you, come here for a moment."

The confused worker drone got closer to Nori and she literally pretended to pass out on the drone's arms, she put a hand on her forehead and stared at the ceiling, creating an awkward moment between the drone and Uzi.
After a few seconds, Nori stood from the person's arms.

Nori: "Okay, you can go now, thank you very much."

The worker drone walked away without saying a word, looking even more confused than before, same thing was for Uzi.

Uzi: "Was that necessary?"

Nori: Looking proud of herself "I'm not going to answer your question, because it's way too obvious."

Uzi: Slowly shaking her head while sighing in tiredness.

Uzi and Nori's fun discussion was quickly interrupted by Khan running towards Uzi in relief and concern.

Khan: "Uzi, oh my god you're okay!"

Uzi: Forcing a smile "Oh… hi, dad… yes, I'm fine as you can see."

Khan: "Phew… I'm so relieved to see that you're still alive."

Uzi: "Of course i am… why would you think the other way?"

Khan: Frowning "Sigh… because you decided it would be a good idea to move and live with a murder drone."
Looking at Nori "And someone also decided to support you on the idea…"

Nori: Crossing her arms and rolling her eyes in annoyance.

Uzi: Sighing in annoyance "Come on, dad, not with this discussion again."

Khan: Looking at Uzi "Uzi, when will you learn that G is going to kill you? And even if I'm somehow in the wrong, you're literally much more vulnerable to the other murder drones by staying with him instead of living here."

Uzi's annoyance quickly faded when she heard her father's opinion, realizing that he had a point with that last phrase as she thought of last night's events.

Uzi: "Fine, maybe you're right about me being less safe out there, but this doesn't mean that G is a bad person, he's not a sadistic killer anymore, when will you understand that?"

Khan: "No, when will you understand-"

Khan was suddenly interrupted by a panicked worker drone that quickly approached Nori, which left everyone confused.

???: "Boss, we have a huge problem going on outside!"

Nori: Looking a bit worried "Whoa, o-okay. What's the matter?"

???: "This is a bit hard to believe, but there is a huge centipede robot eating everyone outside!"

Nori, Khan and Uzi's expressions quickly turned into shock and they all noticed just now that everyone inside the bunker is freaking out, making that current situation much more believable.

Nori: "O-okay, let's not panic now.
Send all our soldiers to take that monster down."

???: "We already did that, but they all got killed pretty fast."

Nori: Panicking "What do you mean they're all dead!?"

???: "We shut down all three security doors, but we fear that they won't be enough to keep that thing outside."

Nori: "You gotta be kidding me… listen, tell everyone to stay calm and hide in their respective dorms, I'll think of something."

The worker drone didn't respond and just ran to do what he was tasked to do.
Khan and Uzi got closer to Nori and tried to calm her down since she looked very stressed.

Khan: "Come on, honey, it's going to be okay."

Nori: "I don't know what to do, fuck!"
Looking at Uzi "Can't you call G for help?"

Uzi: "I-it's useless, he can't fight when there is sunlight outside."

Nori: "Ugh, i forgot about that!"
Lowering her head "Think, Nori, think… there has to be a way to defeat that thing, like… like…!"

Nori suddenly remembered something.

Nori: "How could i forget!"

She ran towards her dorm as fast as she could, with Uzi and Khan following her in confusion.
Nori ran outside her dorm with a wide smile while holding what seemed to be a rail gun.

Uzi: Looking shocked "You've got a rail gun!?"

Nori: "Yup, i stole your instructions and built one by myself.
I actually built two of them for fun."

Khan: Clearing his throat and giving Nori a sharp stare.

Nori: "And your father helped me in the process."

Uzi: "I- what- how- when- augh, whatever… good luck on killing that monster outside."

Nori: "Oh, no no no, I'm not doing that."

Nori threw the rail gun at Uzi, leaving her and Khan shocked.

Uzi: "W-wait, you want me to do this!?"

Khan: "Are you insane, Nori!? Are you trying to kill our daughter or what!?"

Nori: "Come on, she's dating G, aka the hero of Copper-9, it makes sense for her to do some heroic stuff too."

Khan: "This is bullshit! Uzi is not-"

Uzi: Interrupting Khan "No, mom is right, it's time for me to save lives now."

Uzi gripped the rail gun tightly and ran towards the exit, Khan tried to stop her, but Nori put a reassuring hand on Khan's shoulder.

Khan: Hiding his face in his hands "Oh god, she's dead…"

Nori: Still smiling "She's going to be fine, trust me."

Uzi opened the three security doors one by one and walked out of the bunker.
She was met by the disturbing sight of mutilated bodies scattered around the place, which was making her regret doing this, but there was no going back now.
She took a few steps forward slowly, looking around for any sign of this centipede monster and after a bit, she saw it, the same eldritch robot she barely survived to when she met the insane scientist with G, who was eating a family that it just killed.
The sight of that monster instantly trigger her PTSD, causing her to freeze for a moment, before shaking her head and regaining control of her body.
Uzi pointed the rail gun at the giant centipede, ready to kill it for good, but the thing noticed Uzi and didn't waste a second to quickly charge against her.
Uzi barely dodged the attack, but she dropped the rail gun in the process, so she started doing the only thing she could do now, running for her life.
Uzi managed to hide inside a forest, behind a tree and loose sight of the thing, but she could hear it crawling around in search for her.

Uzi: Whispering to herself "Stay calm, Uzi… don't panic… just get to the rail gun and kill this monster once and for all."

Uzi turned around and saw the centipede monster in the distance still searching for her.

Uzi: "Okay… three… two… one…"

Uzi started running as fast as she could towards the rail gun, alerting the giant centipede, who easily got dangerously close to her.
Uzi felt like this was a dumb decision and she was sure that this was the end of her life, until someone threw a rock at the centipede monster.

Nori: "Hey! How about you take it out with someone your height!?"

The giant monster stopped chasing Uzi and slowly turned it's head around to face Nori and started charging at her instead, but she didn't try to run away and stood still instead with a nonchalant smile.
Uzi started panicking even more, she went to grab the rail gun on the ground and immediately pointed it at the centipede.
Uzi managed to shoot the monster just in time before it could kill Nori, the rail gun's powerful laser hit the centipede's heart and divided it's body in two, killing it for good.
Nori sighed in relief and gave a thumbs up at Uzi, who did the same thing while breathing heavily.

Uzi: "I'm never doing this again…"

But, Uzi couldn't get a moment to rest, because a crowd of people started approaching her, they all looked grateful of Uzi and she could hear compliments and thanks from left to right.

???: "You actually did it, you killed that thing!"

??: "You saved our lives!"

Uzi's grip on the rail gun tightened, as she quickly felt overwhelmed by the large amount of people in front of her and she was about to yell at them, but Nori stepped in just in time as she stood in front of Uzi.

Nori: Gesturing the crowd to tone down "Alright alright, calm down y'all, let's not overwhelm our heroine right here now."

The crowd listened to Nori and silenced themselves, but just after a few seconds, one person took a step forward while holding a microphone.

???: "Can we interview her then?"

Nori: Turning around to face Uzi.

Uzi: Nodding.

Nori: Looking at the crowd again "Okay, just stay chill in the process."

With that, Nori stepped aside, letting the various interviewers ask her question and the cameramen recording all her movements.
All of this made Uzi pretty nervous at first, but she did get used to the situation after a bit.
A few hours later.
Uzi's short visit at her colony turned into an entire day inside that bunker, she spent half of her day getting interviewed and taking pictures with people, along with writing a few autographs and the other half was spent with her mom and with Khan too with his constant argues.
As it got late, she waved at her parents and excitedly ran back at the landing pods with a wide smile.

Uzi: "Oh my god, i have to tell all of this to G, he's going to be so proud of me!"

She entered G's pod and saw him sitting on the pilot's seat, smiling as he scrolled on his phone.

Uzi: "Dude, you won't imagine what i did today!"

G: Looking at Uzi "Oh, don't worry, i already saw everything on Dronernet.
You killed that stupid centipede thing, i even forgot about it's existence."

G stood up, putting his phone on the control panel, before opening his arms.

G: "Come here, girlfriend Uzi, you deserve this."

Uzi immediately run towards G and jumped on him, he picked her up and they hugged each other tightly, before G gave Uzi a kiss on the lips while rubbing her head.

G: "I'm so proud of you, i was waiting for so long the day where you finally shine and my dream finally came true!"

Uzi: "Aww! Really? Then I'm happy to have made this happen… i love you, G."

G: "I love you too, girlfriend Uzi."

The two were about to kiss again, until suddenly, J was heard outside mocking the couple.

J: "Pfft! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hey, David, how about you get your ass outside before you start making out with that stupid emo girl? I thought that worker drone's lives were the most important thing for you.
.…Okay, N, we can go now."

G and Uzi stared at the pod's door in embarrassment while hearing J and N flying away, after a few seconds, they looked at each other.

G: "U-uhm…"

Uzi: "You.. should go."

G: "Y-yeah…"

Meanwhile, J and N had already found a colony to attack.

J: Smiling maliciously while switching her hands to claws "Hehehe, here we go.
Are you ready to get back on track?"

N: Switching his left hand to a blade while smiling maliciously too "I always am."

The two broke inside the bunker from the ceiling and started killing everyone as usual, but what they didn't know is that V secretly followed them this entire time and she was floating above the bunker, getting ready to do the complete opposite of what she was built for, one more time.

V: Taking a nervous deep breath "Okay, V, you can do this, this isn't your first time.
G taught you how to do this, show the world that you changed once and for all.

V kept feeling a weird sense of anxiety as she heard the screams of the worker drones getting killed, which was confusing her.

V: "Augh, screw it! It's not time to talk to myself."

Without thinking, V landed inside the bunker and was met with dead corpses scattered around the place, which didn't affect her in any way apart from making her feel bad for them.
She ran around the place to search for J and N to stop them, until she heard a cry coming from a dorm and she couldn't help, but break inside the room.
V was met by a man sitting at the edge of the dorm, crying while hiding his face in his legs, V felt sad at the sight of the innocent person and slowly approached him while trying to act and sound friendly.

V: "Hey…"

The worker drone slowly raised his head, but his fear didn't fade one bit, so V tried to crouch down a bit to look less threatening.

V: "It's okay, don't be scared.. i just want to help you."

???: "H-help me..?"

V: "Yes, help you.
I can assure you that i mean no harm."

???: "Y-y-you're not-"

V: "I'm like G, don't worry.
I stopped killing a for a while now, don't you recognize me?"

???: "N-no…"

V: "W-well, don't worry about that right now, let's get you out of here."

V held a hand in front of the man while smiling softly, the worker drone slowly reached for the hand and gently gripped on it before standing up, but before V could even turn around, J had already blocked the exit to the dorm they were in and her eyes widened in terror when she was her.

J: Looking at V with an annoyed expression while crossing her arms "Well well well, still trying to go against your sadistic thoughts."

V: Looking at J with a seriously determined expression "I already got over them, idiot."

J: "I know, unfortunately.. i was just trying to make the situation look intense."

V: Holding an arm protectively in front of the worker drone "This is the last time you'll be killing someone."

J: "Oh, quit with the heroic quotes, you're not David, so you don't scare me."

V: "i learned a lot from him, you won't win against me so easily this time-"

J suddenly switched one of her hands to a rifle and instantly shot the worker drone in the head.
V gasped in shock and looked at the dead man on the floor while covering her mouth with her hands.

J: Raising an eyebrow in confusion "What's wrong? You've seen this a thousand times, a dead worker drone shouldn't be a disturbing sight for you."

V: Looking at J and yelling at her in anger "It's different now! I didn't understand what and why i was doing, i didn't understand that i was being controlled."

V's anger quickly faded when she thought about that last phrase she just said.

V: Lowering her head "Wait…"

J: Chuckling in amusement "Controlled? What are you talking about-"

J was suddenly interrupted by G, who kicked her away from the side, his sudden appearance surprised V.

G: Looking at J in anger "How about you shut up, J-"

G's anger turned into confusion when he noticed V next to a dead worker drone.
V immediately started panicking, because she thought that G would think that she killed the innocent man.

V: Shaking her hands at G rapidly "W-w-wait, it's not what it seems! It was J, i swear!"

G: Looking confused "V, what are you doing here?"

V: "I-i just wanted to help, i wanna show to everyone that I'm changed!"
Quieting down her voice "You believe me, right?"

G: Nodding in understanding "Oh, i see i see."
Smiling "Of course i believe you, V."

J tried to do a surprise attack on G, but he just punched her in the face without even looking at her, making J's visor shatter temporarily.

G: "I'm happy that you're trying to so hard to be a better person, I'm proud of you."

V: Smiling lightly "Thanks… you really made me realize the truth about JcJenson and i won't kill an innocent worker drone for them."

G: Speaking while still easily dealing with J and N too at the same time "Oh, so you only think that they built you to do tasks for them? Well, I'm sorry to tell you, but there's much more than that."

V: Sounding confident of herself "Pfft! Don't worry, i had already realized that, i mean, it was so obvious that the company is trying to control us disassembly drones.
We do the missions, they reward us with whatever they have in mind for us, then they send us to do something again and the cycle repeats, not to mention that they had the audacity to send us to kill innocent people that just wanted a free life, i bet that they don't even know what they did."

G: Raising an eyebrow "Uhm… no? Who said that they would give you a reward after finishing a mission?"

V: Frowning in slight confusion "The employees before sending us here?"

G: Laughing softly in amusement "Wait, you and the others actually believe that? It's all just a lie to motivate y'all to keep working for them, at max you'll be turned off and left inside a dark room to collect dust until they'll need you for another mission, if you're lucky of course.
By the way, JcJenson was always fully aware of the worker drones living happy lives and creating families, that's why they sent us here, because they hate seeing them living a good life instead of working for them."

V had to take a step away after what G said, as she stared at him in pure shock and horror.

V: "W-what? N-no, it can't be, i…"

She looked at her shaky hands and started to hyperventilate, making G confused and especially concerned.

G: "V? Hey, it's okay if what i said triggered something in you, we'll discuss about it after these two idiots stop trying to-"

V suddenly left by breaking the ceiling above herself and flying away before G could finish talking, which only made him more concerned.

G: "Crap… i thought that she could've handle it.
I need to find her as fast as possible."

G threw J against the wall behind him with an hand and did the same with N with the other before snapping at them.

G: "And you two stop attacking me for god's sake! Jeez, i feel like a father punishing his two immature children, didn't you see that V is having a mental breakdown!?"

J: "I don't care about her anymore, she can deal with her little breakdown by herself."
Trying to stand up "If you wanna go to comfort her, then do it, so i can finish my job here."

G: "Sigh…"

G broke the ceiling above and flied outside the bunker while holding J and N from their necks, who were both too tired and weak to defend themselves at this point.

J: Chuckling in amusement "What? You're gonna take us to her? Sorry, David, but no apologies will come out of my mouth."

G didn't say anything and threw N away using all of his forces, sending him flying so far that it even shocked J and made her worry.

N: "AHHHHHHH!"

J: "Huhhhh…"

J was thrown shortly after.

J: "AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

G: "Alright, they shouldn't be bothering me for a while.
Now where could V be?"

G turned around and saw V floating far away, so he didn't waste any more time and approached her, she was clearly going insane, as her entire body was shaking and she was gripping her hair tightly with both of her hands.

G: Looking concerned "V-"

V immediately turned around, lowering her hands from her hair and looking at G in surprise, before hiding her face in her hands a second later.

V: "Go away, don't look at me.. I'm a monster… i ended the lives of so many innocent people for an awful company."

G: "Hey, calm down, that wasn't your fault-"

V: "Yes, it was! I should've realized this sooner, i should've realized how messed up my actions were since i acted nice to a worker drone for the first time, i should've realized why the fuck they rebelled against the company in the first place! …but i never did…"

G: "That's normal, your code was making you think that what you were doing is right, but none of this was your fault, everything was out of your control and knowledge."

V: "…sob i…"

G: "Come here, it's okay…"

G gently hugged V and caressed her head while also smoothing her messy hair.

G: "Shhh… don't cry…"

V: "I-i… i can't believe this… JcJenson… they're all psychopaths for doing this… they used me and everyone like an object or a toy…"

V started to slowly calm down and uncovered half of her face.

V: "Now i see why all these worker drones hate humanity… and i was there, thinking that they deserved to die, that they were the bad guys…."

V then fully uncovered her face and looked at G.

V: "And you, G- no, David… now i see why you care so much about me and every other robot created by that sadistic company… you're probably the only good human that I'll meet in my life."

G: Smiling warmly at V "I'm happy that you finally know the truth, even if it was a bit hard to accept.
Just call me, G, by the way, i do have some humanity left in me, but i still want to be known as nothing more than a robot."

V: Smiling warmly back "Okay, G, hehe…"

G: "…You should get back to your landing pod to rest your mind a bit.. if you want of course."

V: "Yes, i think it's better for me after having a mental breakdown.
Can you accompany me to my pod if it's okay for you?

G: "Hm, sure.
Let's be quick, N and J could be anywhere right now."

V: "You're right, let's go.
The pods aren't too far from here anyway."

The two disassembly drones flied towards the landing pods, staying next to each other, but halfway they heard someone calling G from below and as they stopped and looked down they saw a nurse desperately trying to get G's attention.
V and G looked at each other, both looking troubled.

V: "Huh… don't worry about me, i can continue alone."

G: "Okay, be careful and check if Uzi is doing fine."

V: "You can count on me for that.
See ya."

V waved at G and he waved back, before landing in front of the nurse, who looked relieved that he noticed her.
G put up a warm smile, ready to help the woman for any reason.

G: "Hey, Ms.worker drone.
Is there any problem?"

???: "Hi, sorry to disturb you, but this is very important.
Please, follow me."

G raised an eyebrow in curiosity and followed the nurse inside the bunker of her colony without saying a word, he waved at all the people looking at him and taking photos in admiration, but he was mostly focused on what the woman wants.
They stopped in front of the bunker's medical room, the nurse lowered her head with a sad expression.

???: "So, a child here got seriously injured a few days ago, we tried to do everything to help him, but my colony is very poor when it comes to replacement parts… and so, that child… h-he's not going to survive unfortunately…"

G: Frowning sadly "Oh…"

???: "He told me that he always wanted to meet you before dying, which is why i was so desperate to get your attention earlier…"
Backing away "Do what you need to do, i won't interfere…"

G stared at the medical room's entrance for a few second, before taking a deep breath and slowly stepping inside.
The room had a few hospital beds that looked old and broken, yet, a small and weak child was laying down in one of them, whose head was leaking oil.
The small worker drone slowly turned his head around when he heard G walk inside the room and despite being confident that it was him, he was still shocked to see the hero in person.

??: "Gasp G, it's really you…!"

G: Stepping closer to the boy while smiling sadly "Hey, kid.. it's me, the hero of Copper-9."

??: Smiling weakly "I can't believe this, it's really you… i always saw you on Dronernet, i never thought I'd see you in real life."

G: "Well, your dream has come true now."
Crouching down slightly "You don't look so good, what happened to you?"

??: Frowning and glancing away "I wanted to climb a tree one day, but i fell right when i reached the top… the doctors said that surviving that fall was useless, because they don't have the necessary replacement parts… so, i have to just accept my death…"

G: Looking sad "I see… where are your parents?"

??: "They… they were killed by the murder drones…"

G: "Oh… how old are you?"

??: "I'm.. seven years old…"

G: "So young…. hey, look at me, kid."

??: Looking at G

G: "I know it must be hard for you… death is a very scary thing, but.. let's try to be positive anyway."
Smiling softly "I mean, you will see your mom and dad again and stay with them forever in a much better place.. and I'm gonna stay here to support you through your transition from life to death and i won't leave until that happens."

??: Smiling weakly "Thank you, G… you always make everything better.. you're the best hero ever… can we do a fist bump?"

G: "Of course we can."

G and the weak child slowly did a fist bump.

G: "Hehe, you looked so cool, you know?"

??: "R-really? i Looked… i…"

The child's systems suddenly turned off, his visor went blank and his body now was still like a statue.
G smile's faded as he stared at the dead child, he stood up and walked out of the medical room, where he was met by the nurse, who never moved an inch since he entered the room.
The nurse raised her head to look at G, both looking very sad.

???: "…Thank you very much… you can go if you want… i don't wanna force you to stay here…"

G: "No problem, miss-"

G stopped mid-phrase, as the scene of the boy dying in front of him kept replaying in his mind, causing him to start crying quietly, the nurse wanted to comfort him, but she was too scared of making things worse, so she just watched him get emotional while also shedding a few tears too.
He walked towards the building's exit while hiding his face with one hand, as he didn't want people to see him in this state, unfortunately two fan girls approached him with paper and pen in hand and wide excited smiles to ask for autographs, so he wiped his digital tears off his face and tried to act normal.

????: "Oh my god.
H-hi, mr.G."

?: "Can we get an autograph from you?"

G: "Of course you-"

G was suddenly interrupted by the nurse approaching them, looking angry at the two girls.

???: "You two, leave him alone.
This isn't the time for this."

G: Looking at the nurse and gesturing her to calm down "No no, it's okay, don't worry."

???: Looking at G in surprise "Really? But-"

G: "Yes, really.
I don't mind writing some autographs right now."

The nurse stayed silent and took a few steps away, feeling bad to have bothered, G for something so small.
G returned his focus to the girls and took his time to sign their pieces of paper, but the two kids could tell that he was forcing his smile, which made them a bit concerned.

G: Giving the papers back "There you go, little worker drones."

?: "Thank you."

????: "Yeah, thank you so much."

G: "I must go now, remember to always be safe and never step outside at night."

As G walked away, the two girls looked at each other in slight confusion.

????: "Why did he look like he was about to cry?"

?: "Why are you asking me? I have no idea, but we should just mind our business in my opinion."

????: "…Yeah, let's not think about it too much, everyone has their moments anyway."

Meanwhile, G returned to the city he lives in, despite no one being around, he still tried to not cry in case he needed to act quick for any reason, luckily for him, he saw something to distract himself with for a bit, N and J, who were drinking oil from the centipede robot that Uzi previously killed.
G decided to approach them to take his mind off from the tragic moment that happened earlier and landed beside N.

J: Looking at G in annoyance "Augh! We can't even take a small break now?"

G: "No, it's fine.. i won't bother you."

J: "You better."

As G was also drinking a bit of the centipede's oil, N couldn't help, but notice how depressed he looked, which raised some concern in him.

N: "Uhm… G?"

G: Glancing at N "..Yeah?"

N: "You look really depressed, you know? Are you okay-"

J: Raising her voice in anger "N! Don't you dare worry about him.
Do i seriously have to remind you that David killed an innocent worker of JcJenson?"

N: Looking at J in slight surprise "No no no, i know what he did, i was just curious."

J: "Really? You sounded so concerned for him."

N: "I sounded concerned for you, but in reality i wasn't."

J: "Hmm… fine, i believe you…"
Looking at G "…Okay, now I'm curious too.
Why are you so sad, David?"

G: "…I'm just thinking about… the past…"

J: Raising an eyebrow "The past?"

G: "Yes, when we were still together… you, N, V and me… i just wish we could be simple group of friends again, even for just a day…"

J's expression softened, as that realization hit hard for both her and N too.
Despite that, J tried to hide her soft side to not look weak and tried to act annoyed instead.

J: "W-well, all of this wouldn't have happened if you and V didn't rebel to the company for dumb reasons."

G: Looking at J "I have good reasons to stay away from JcJenson and I'm trying my best to make you understand how evil that company is when it comes to treating their own robots."

J: "And who are you to say that?"

G: Raising his voice slightly "A former employee of the company, that's who i am.
You think that you know everything just because they're your parent company, wrong, you don't know anything about them, you were only built and immediately thrown in this shitty planet, i worked for JcJenson for 2 years and a half, i know very well what they wanna do with you."

J stayed silent for a few seconds, realizing that he had a good point, but still stood on her ground.

J: "Pfft! Sure, what will they do with me? Give me a reward for being a good employee? So horrible!"
Looking at N "Come on, N, let's return to our landing pods, there's no point in continuing to work now when mr.hero right here is just gonna follow us and stop us."

J opened her wings and flied away.

J: "Wasted night…"

Now that N was alone with G, he decided to talk to him privately while he could.

N: "G…"

G: Looking at N "Hm?"

N: Looking away, feeling guilty "I hate myself for saying this, but.. I'm really getting tired of all of this.
I'm starting to think that maybe worker drones don't really deserve to die and that JcJenson isn't actually going to reward me if i finish the mission."

G: Widening his eyes in surprise "Well, that was unexpected."

N: "Yeah.. but, i don't know if should really join you, i mean, i want to stay loyal to the company and i really don't want to upset J."

G: "I see… let me tell you something about JcJenson then and let's see if that's gonna help you to make your choice."

N: Looking at G with interest "Okay, what is it?"

G leaned on N's left ear and just like he did with V before, he whispered him JcJenson's true plans.
N's expression slowly turned from guilt to shock and horror, before G leaned his face away from him.

N: "Oh… god…"

G: "Yeah, very messed up.
Don't tell J about this, okay? I feel like that I'd do a better job at changing her vision on the company, because well, I'm a former employee."

N: "S-sure, don't worry… god, i… i think I'll go or J will be mad at if she catches me talking to you.
B-bye…"

G: Smiling softly "Bye, N."

G felt relieved that he managed to get N on his side and that now, J was the only one left to help.
