Zeke was sensing that something about him was not right. He was no ordinary player, and he soon realized he was meeting the creator of this place. Jack Fortuna was the one to initiate the conversation, telling Zeke that his objective had been achieved, that of meeting him. What Zeke was about to discover was that Jack Fortuna had also been interested in his presence in the casino.

Zeke may have been a gambler who lost often, but he always knew why he lost, even analyzing his chances based on the game and the odds he faced at the time. Now, Jack was offering him a chance to enter a final game that could bring fame, notoriety, and a gambling empire, though of course, it would not be so simple. The house always wins, and the player only acts as permitted.

Jack Fortuna threw two contracts onto the table. One was the contract Zeke had signed ten days ago, and the other was the standard contract every player received. Aware of Zeke’s arrival, Jack had deliberately removed certain fragments from the contract to challenge and test him.

This time, Zeke read the contract carefully and realized that Trent would never return. He noticed that one of the conditions to remain in the casino required donating an organ to a hospital. Even participating in the fights Trent had entered required a fee, so the lack of money often forced players into this choice. Of course, one could leave the casino after losing all their money, but when given the false impression that leaving could result in a fortune enough to support at least three generations who would waste it all, it was hard not to offer one’s body.

Unfazed, Zeke told Jack Fortuna that he was willing to play one final game against him. From the moment he had arrived, he had wanted to experience a moment where he could truly feel that his life was at stake. Jack Fortuna agreed, but with one condition. If Zeke lost, he would inherit this secret-filled realm, but if he won, he would have to give his heart to Dr. Thorn Heart.

After Lara explained why Jack Fortuna had proposed this condition, Zeke admired her for everything she had done and for playing her part so convincingly. From the very first moment, she had been different from everyone else there. He thanked her for helping him reach this point and then shook Jack Fortuna’s hand. The game was about to begin.
