Sonic, Tails and Knuckles found out that on The Desert they once sent Selkadoom to, the Machine of Doom's parts could still be present and could mean a danger. They decided to go there. It was their first voyage far from home. Because they had no experience in travelling through a desert, they asked Qasq the gecko to be their guide. He agreed.

Sonic and Knuckles had no clue that they should save water. They drank a lot of it and when there was little left for them, the hedghehog and the echidna got unhealthily happy. Sonic and Knuckles started to dance maniacally and Tails had to calm them down.

Everyone began to see some objects in the distance. They were sure they saw the same kinds of things, but each of the travellers perceived them a bit differently. When they noticed a cube, for example, Sonic could describe it as transparent while Tails was convinced it was blue in color.

Then, it was time for bed. The group fell asleep. In their dreams, the same character appeared. The figure introduced himself as Ucid. He looked like a black doberman. It seemed he was looking for help. Ucid didn't want Team Sonic to leave him. He begged them to save him from his brother, who didn't want Ucid to talk with anyone.
