It all started with Groogor and Daphne - a couple of savanna lions. When The Jungle's nexus, Vitodendron, was in danger, they saved it. In return, the nexus gave them a last name - Vito - and superpowers related to plants. For example, Daphne could turn things into plants. Vitodendron said that these power are hereditary and will show in every other generation. However, the nexus warned that if they try to transmit the abilities to someone outside of Vito family, they will regret it.

The two lived happily. Daphne even gave birth to four boys: Brave, Hinter, Albus and Young. It was all nice until Bas-Enji appeared. He wanted Daphne to be his spouse. She was running away from him. Groogor couldn't do much about it. Then one day, Daphne had enough of such life and turned herself into a tree. That made Groogor lose his mind.

The Lion Brothers grew up. They lived in harmony until there was a huge quarrel between them. Young was teasing his brothers as always, but suddenly, Hinter broke out and started shouting. He accused Brave of being a coward. Albus joined the word fight and said everything he was upset about. The oldest left into the distance and after that, everyone went their way. Brave hid in The Mountains, Hinter settled in The Jungle while Albus moved to The Mountain Caves. The youngest stayed on The Savanna.

Brave was the only son Groogor had contact with at that time. The father told him about Vitodendron and what happened with Daphne.

Fortunately, after a hiatus, the brothers reunited. To make sure they will never split up again, each of them painted a card symbol on their body as a mark of unity. Brave chose club, hearts belonged to Hinter, Albus picked spades and diamonds went to Young.

Hinter told his siblings that in The Jungle, there is a different type of lions. The rest decided that they should send one of them for a diplomatic mission. The brothers didn't trust Hinter's competence despite him being the only one who had been there. Young seemed the best option because of his communication skills and cheerful personality.

So the youngest went there. The first person he met was a female hunter. She was really careful and didn't let Young get near. The hunter disappeared in the bushes. Young realised that he might stand out with his fair fur. He looked for a way to become more like jungle lions. He reached a small river, grabbed a lot of mud and moss and spreaded all of those on his body. After a while, he saw the hunter again. She seemed more favourable then. It turned out her name was Een and she didn't speak.

The two even formed a relationship. Its result was the birth of Egal. He got used to the jungle's customs, even if he was physically different than his peers. Egal befriended Frato and often spent time with him.

But one day...

Ekras the lion claimed it's essential to keep the purity of each tribe. Thanks to his fan's communication skills, he convinced many to his ideas. One of them, Mengo, tried to scientifically prove the purebloods' supremacy. When he interpreted his findings as supportive, Ekras ordered his allies to expel every hybrid they could find. Egal was one of them, so he was banished from the jungle. Frato felt bad for his friend, but he was also afraid that doing anything would make his tribe angry. When Egal was walking away, Sisi runned to him, trying to make him stay. The lion told her to head back immediately, so no one would spot her talking with him.

While wandering on the outback, Egal heard some noise. Soon after that, he saw a hyena running towards him and a group chasing her. Hyeans weren't friendly with lions, so Egal started running too. The escapee caught up on him. Ahead by quite of a distance, they hid in a cave. Fortunately, the crowd didn't reach them there.

The two got to know each other. The hyena's name was Ekita. She didn't really trust Egal, but running to the cave was his idea, so she was a bit less bitter to him. Then they both fell asleep.

The next day, they saw something in the cave's entrance that wasn't there the day before. Young green vines here hanging from the ceiling. It was impossible for them to grow overnight naturally. Ekita asked Egal if he caused it. The lion was sure he didn't. Then, the hyena handed him a withered plant. On Egal's hand, the plant bloomed. That's how he discovered his inherited power. This surprise made Ekita more talkative. She admitted having an opposite ability and explained that she had mistakenly destroyed her clan's crops, so the group went after her.

Since then, they travelled together. But not for long. One time, Ekita noticed her boyfriend. He was the only person in her clan who believed that she didn't make the crops wither on purpose. Toma recognised her too and they ran to each other in happiness. However, when the male hyena saw Egal, his face frowned. Toma took the lion's company as cheating on him. Ekita wanted to explain, but the jealousy won. Toma left without a question. That made the girl distressed. Then, sadness transformed into anger and the hyena blamed Egal for everything. For a moment, he didn't know what to do, but decided not to make the situation any worse. He walked away, alone again.

After that, something happened to Egal. A thing that even Ekita would never wish him.

In the vicinity, a female harpy eagle was flying, looking for its next victim. She spotted Egal and caught him with her claws, not doing any harm. The lion tried to get free, but the bird was too strong. The harpy eagle, whose name was Anoria, took him to her hideout in The Snowy Mountains.

Egal obeyed Anoria until she left to get him something to eat. He saw a chance to escape. The lion peeked over the edge of a platform the cave was located on. He saw only rocks in the distance and a layer of clouds. Such view made him nervous, but Egal knew he had to run away somehow. He found some moss and dry branches here and there, then using his new power, made a kind of glider out of those. The lion was finally free. He jumped out of the cave. The glider worked, but he couldn't see what's ahead due to a blizzard. On the way down, Egal hit one rock, then another and at the end, he dived into a bank of snow, losing consciousness. It was a danger for his life.

Fortunately, someone walked nearby. The character picked Egal up and took him to safety.

The lion woke up in a place that looked like a mountain hut. He was greeted by his saviour, a snow leopard.

- Hey, kid. You're finally awake. Name's Li Tel.

- I'm not a kid - Egal corrected him - Well, I have no mane, because I'm from the jungle and stuff...

Li Tel only looked at him politely and added:

- When you're ready, come downstairs. I'd like you to meet everyone.

Having nothing else to do, the lion obeyed. On the way he finally realised that the snow leopard had probably saved him and he had been running this place. He was feeling ashamed for not saying any "thanks", when he saw a bunch of characters.

One of them was a orange lion named Ai. When he heard about Egal, his behaviour changed. He got serious and quiet, seeming like he was afraid of strangers.

Another resident was a cheerful lion Iznais. He had more in common with Egal. They both were hybrids between tribes. The yellow lion asked him to come back to The Jungle with him. To his surprise, Iznais refused.

Then Egal offered the journey to Li Tel. The snow leopard answered that someone had to take care of the shelter. But it seemed he had more reasons not to return to civilization...

There was only character who was clearly unfriendly to Egal. It was The Lemming.

That's how he greeted the lion:

- I'll never like you, get it?

Egal mentioned this first meeting to Li Tel. The snow leopard assured him that the little fellow was always like that to new guests and told him not to worry. But a week passed and nothing changed, so the lion tried to calm the situation once more.

When the lemming wasn't paying attention, Egal picked him up and put on his palm. That turned out to be a mistake. The lemming immediately punched him and said:

- Let me go, freak! Don't try to show domination!

- Ouch! Hey, I just wanted to speak to you, not looking from above.

- I don't need your pity!

The Lemming got even angrier and shouted:

- Listen, you maneless flea lure! Even if you bent over backwards, we'll never get along. I'll meet you in hell! You'll tell them who sent you!

After that, Egal stopped caring about making friends with The Lemming.
