SPIRITS AWAKEN: Book 1

T- Book one? Oh lord have mercy.

CHAPTER 1

ADVENTURE ACADEMY

MORNING

“I don’t know, Nor. I don’t know if I can do it. ARGGH.” Lex said in frustration as she made her first steps into her new college: ADVENTURE ACADEMY: OPENING DAY! MEET UP WITH MASTER QUINCHI FOR INFO. 

J- I have a feeling that the author of these stories just mashed together words for these names.

M- Jonah, she was nine or something.

The sign said. “Awww, it’s ok. I mean, I got my spirit animal during my last day of summer here.” Nora said as she followed her best friend, Lex.

T- "Lex?"

Adventure Academy is where teens from all over the world get accepted to come and train their forever kept spirit animals. The teens that come here lost their families. And that is what Nora and Lex have experienced.

T- "Lex"?

M- Sorry, teens are going to college?

They were neighbors. Their families heard a sound in the woods and never came back. So, Master Quinchi’s dragon, Cupid, got them and took them here!

J- Well! Would you look at that? I hear a sound in the forest! Bye!

M- Okay, get back over here.

“Oh, your ceremony is starting!” Nora shoved Lex onto the red rug, and watched Lex go to the beacon of life. “Now, Adventure Academy, witness as Lexsa Maori gets her spirit animal to train! SPIRITS, SPEAK TO US!!” Master Quinchi and Cupid let the beacon power up, and the students, spirit animals, and masters of Adventure Academy saw a white, shining soul come to the Earth.

T- "LEXSA MAORI?"

J- Sounds and words, man. Sounds and words.

The soul formed itself into a… “WOAH! LEX! OH MY GOSH! IT’S A TIGER!” Nora shouted. The others just clapped. “Now, Lexsa. What is this tiger’s name?” Master Quinchi handed the spirit tiger to Lex. The tiger had light, pale blue on her fur, and she had dark blue stripes and white eyes with aqua green pupils. “Indigo. This tiger’s name is Indigo.”

T- Is it because of the stripes?

M- Context clues.

Lex said. Nora looked down at HER spirit animal. It was a wolf. The wolf was yipping with joy, and was all blue except for her white eyes and cutie pupils. The wolf’s name was Jade.

J- No follow-up? No? Okay. The wolf's name was Jade. We leave off on that part.

CHAPTER 2:

NORA AND LEX’S DORM

AND HOUR LATER

“AWWWWW. INDIGO IS SOOOOO CUTE!!!” Nora cooed as Indigo was playing with this little ribbon.

M- See, I find it hard to believe that a TIGER would play with a RIBBON.

“I know. Aren’t you, Indigo?” Lex said as she picked up Indigo and the little tiger licked Lex.

T- (a la Indigo) "Your flesh tastes just right! Muahahahahaha!"

“Indigo is the attack type, right? Jade is a flight type.” Lex set Indigo down for her sleep. “Yes. I never trained Jade.” Nora got her PJ’s on, and went to sleep.

J- I never knew this was a pokemon fanfiction.

The next day, it was time for flight type training. As she entered the class. She stood as still as stone.

M- Figurative language...

T- Swing and a miss!

THE ACADEMY HEADMASTER WAS TEACHING HER CLASS! “H-hi, Master Quinchi!” Nora said. Nora looked at Cupid, Master Quinchi’s dragon. Cupid was dotted with hearts and was pink. “Since you’re here, I will teach you. Now, wave your hands in the air as you hop on Jade’s back.” Master Quinchi hopped on Cupid and gazed at Nora. As Nora waved her hands, Jade took off. “WOAH! Master Quinchi? HOW DO I OPERATE JADE?” Nora shouted as Jade was flying in circles. “Grab her scruff, and turn!”

M- (a la Master Quinchi) "Remember, do this with as little flight training as possible! It really gets you in the mood once you start taking off your helmet and stuff!"

J and T- (Singing) "Life is a highway... I'm gon' ride it all night long..."

Master Quinchi grabbed Cupid’s scruff, and went closer to Nora and Jade. Nora grabbed Jade’s scruff, and aimed for a magical obstacle circle whom Master Quinchi summoned.

T- Whom?

M- Whom?

J- Whom?

As Nora was completing her course, she saw a blonde-haired girl and what appeared to be her spirit animal, a dark blue dragon.

J- (whispering) Pay attention.

“Hello, Chloe.

T- (whispering) Pay attention.

You may resume your training from yesterday, this time, use the course.” Master Quinchi said.

M- PAY ATTENTION!

Nora screamed as she found out she was not paying attention to the course, she was flying into the forest! She crash landed, and Jade was whimpering by her side. “Shhhh. It’s ok.” Nora said.

J- (Falsetto) "Wimp."

“Beautiful. Just beautiful.” A dark voice murmured. “WHAT IS?” Nora shouted. “A girl who crashed landed a flight type. The flight type whimpers and the girl sobs.” The voice sounded closer. “Appeni…” Nora stared in shock.

Chapter 12: Spirits Awaken- Chapters 3&4

CHAPTER 3

THE FOREST

PRESENT

The voice paused, and out came a person similar to Master Quinchi, but he had a black robe. “You are right, Nora. It’s Apeni.” Apeni said. He whistled, and out came a slithering snake. It’s Apeni’s spirit animal… 

T- He wears black AND owns a snake? Is he the villain?!

Nora thought. VENOM… “Venom, ATTACK!” Appeni signaled Venom to do the illusions. (Snakes in the ACADEMY are illusion types.)

J- I wanna do the illusions, too!

Jade stood up to Venom, and jumped without Nora even signaling Jade to. “JADE!”

(the three riffers hold up signs with varied numbers- 7, 8, 10)

J- And they're off!

Nora hopped onto Jade’s back, and they started FLYING. “You know how to FLY that thing?”

T- Shocking!

J- Mind-numbing!

M- Exciting!

Appeni asked. Venom and Appeni were shocked, before the bad guys returned to the forest, Jade managed to scratch a deadly wound on Venom AND Appeni. “Nice job, Jade.” Nora said. As they returned to the Academy, Jade yipped. “What?” Nora asked. Then she realized. Master Quinchi had a dirty look on his face

T- WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH-

M- Okay, no, we are not doing that, stop it.

as he walked toward Nora and Jade. “Nora, Jade…” He sighed “Come to my office.”

ALL- UH OH!

CHAPTER 4

MASTER QUINCHI’S OFFICE

PRESENT

“SO, Nora. What happened?” Master Quinchi asked with a stern look. “I saw Chloe, and I wasn’t paying attention so me and Jade fell and found Appeni! And the-” “YOU FACED APPENI?!” Master Quinchi shouted. “Umm, yes?” Nora said. “What happened next?!” “Well, I, um. Well, Jade jumped onto Venom, and I hopped onto Jade’s back and we were flying! And, before Appeni and Venom could go back into the woods, Jade put a deadly wound on BOTH of them! At that time, we went back here.” Nora said. “Nora…” Master Quinchi sighed. “Never face Appeni again.

J- (a la Master Quinchi) "...I'm kind of a wimp compared to you..."

For you don’t know what he can do.... You can fight him with help. He has as much power as me…” Master Quinchi looked teary. “Woah, Master Quinchi. What happened?” “He is… My brother.” Master Quinchi sighed heavily.

M- AND THAT'S THE PLOT OF THE NEXT BOOK, EVERYBODY!

J- THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE!

T- KUDOS! KUDOS!

“Your secret is safe with me.” Nora said. “You are dismissed.” Master Quinchi said. “NORA! Why were you in the OFFICE?” Lex shouted from across the hallway, holding little Indigo. “Yes, I got in trouble for… how do I say this? Facing Appeni?” Nora tried to cheer Lex up with a forced smile. “WOW! AND YOU SURVIVED?” Lex stood there, shocked.

T- I don't think Lex's name should've survived. BURN!

M- We're on chapter four, do you really need to be so salty about a name?

“Yeah! I can’t believe it myself he just… left!” Nora said. Lex gave her a I know that is not the whole story look. “Oh fine!” Nora said. Nora told her the horror story about the forest and her flight, the battle and Chloe.

J- I love the fact how we never even met Chloe, we just saw her once.

“Woah.” Lex said. “Lexsa, Nora.” Master Quinchi said. “Come with me.”

ALL- UH OH!

T- Let's take a break, boys.

J- Agreed.

M- Aye.

1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6...

Chapter 13: Spirits Awaken- Host Segment

J: So anyways, I say to him... "You don't really know anything about karaoke, do you?" And he said, "No, but you won't need it where you're going..." And that's when he shot me up here.

M: For me, I just thought it was a museum trip.

J: What?

M: I read the invite wrong.

(Servo appears in a suit and tie)

T: Step right on up, boys and lads! I, Tom Servo, has come up with a brilliant contraption for a cheap buck! Behold: The Namer! With the great inspirations from the story we're reading, I have come up with sucky names for our sucky lifestyle!

J: Really? So like... Apenni, Quinchi, Lexsa Maori... Lex...

T: Yes!

M: Woah! Well, tell me mine!

T: Yours is... Nelsnork! No! Uh... Hmmm... Mmmm... Mellin! No! That sounds like an everyday object...

M: Woah, my little robot friend, are you okay?

(Tom starts crying)

T: My circuts... They can't handle the complex science behind smashing words together for unique names! I'll never be as terrible as young Lexsi Marinn!

J: Oh, it's okay, bud... I can't think of any, either.

BEEP! BEEP!

ALL- WE GOT STORY SIGN!

Chapter 14: Spirits Awaken- Chapter 5-End

CHAPTER 5

OUTSIDE ADVENTURE ACADEMY

PRESENT

“I have seen you two do training, and I believe that you two shall face Appeni and turn him good again.” Master Quinchi said.

T- In the next book, of course!

“Master…” Nora said. “15 minutes ago, you said to not face Appeni again.” “Yeah. What’s up with that?” Lex said. Good ol’ Lex.

J- What a good ol' Lex.

“I underestimated you two. You trained well. And…” Master Quinchi said. “I decided to evolve your spirit animals.” “YES!” The girls shouted. “And I would like to give you a SECOND spirit animal. Also, Chloe will come with you.” “Hey.” Chloe said. “Oh, I forgot to tell you: My dragon’s name is Wyvern.”

T- When did I ask?

J- You should stop stealing my phone.

M- (falsetto) "I feel like you need to know about this. I do seem like I have a huge impact on the plot, so..."

“Cool.” Lex said. Then, it was Nora, Chloe, and Lex’s ceremony. They were getting their SECOND spirit animal. “Lexsa Maori, Indigo needs a friend. Indigo is a fighter, so we will see what will go with that.

J- (a la Master Quinchi) "I have honestly no idea what my job is."

SPIRITS, SPEAK TO US!” Master Quinchi shouted as the beacon shot to the skies. As the spirit animal went down, the students at Adventure Academy went silent. Lex’s spirit animal was a leopard gecko.

ALL- LAME!

“Ah, a gecko, I see. That is a healing type. What is this gecko’s name?” Master Quinchi asked. “I name it… Mango.” Lex picked up Mango, and stepped off of the platform. “Chloe Accardi, Wyvern has treated us well, she is a flight and darkness type, now, SPIRITS, SPEAK TO US!!!” The beacon summoned a dog. A blue “Golden” retriever.

J- What's the point?!

“This retriever is a light type. What is it’s name?” “Ummm, Archy.”

M- (a la Chloe) "I'll regret that one later!"

Chloe signaled her animals to hop off the platform with her. “Now, Nora Vitcusk, your Jade is a flight type, now, SPIRITS, SPEAK TO US!!!” The beacon summoned a leopard. “This leopard is an illusions type, what will you name it?” “Lumina.” Nora said.

J- Did any of you guys notice that they started using triple question marks after Lex? They knew she was screwed with a gecko.

T- Well, Jonah, it was simply... Fate.

The crowd burst into applause. “LUMINA! MANGO! ARCHY!” They chanted. “NORA! LEXSA! CHLOE!” They chanted once more. “Amazing! I never saw this crowd so excited!” Master Quinchi told Nora. Nora felt like she had a family. She had Jade. She had Lumina. She had a school. She had friends. And she had hope.

She could wish for nothing more.

M- Other than money and parents, but who cares?

EPILOGUE

ALL- Oh, come on!

THE ACADEMY

PRESENT

“WHAT IS THAT?” A student pointed out. VENOM was using his illusions to spawn snakes like him. “APPENI! RUUUN!” Another student cried. Master Quinchi called upon Cupid, and stepped back.

J- "Yeah, no, you got this."

This was Appeni’s biggest attack. Chloe, Nora, and Lex weren’t frightened. They were ready for war.

T- And what are they geared up with? Plot armor?

M- I think so...

J- I wonder how the next story will go...

M- Yeah, do you think Joel will get into this mess?

T- He's the OG, Mike, of course he will.
