After a few glasses of alcohol, Zeke decided to take a break. The casino had several adjoining rooms, one of them being a terrarium that could make you forget, for a few moments, where you actually were.
As he was about to step back into the gaming room, two slightly anxious players were having a heated conversation. Zeke knew the reason. Their money was starting to run out, yet money wasn’t the real problem. The contract included another method that allowed them to stay in the game, but Zeke hadn’t paid attention to it, so he couldn’t understand the fear and the confusion that filled those people.
Lara greeted him warmly, as if she hadn’t seen her dear childhood friend in years. Zeke, slightly embarrassed, hugged her back. What many of the players, especially Zeke, didn’t know was that they were all participants in an experiment that could soon become a business.
