The clinical examination was over, and Kevin was ready for surgery. The clause that Kevin hadn’t even noticed when signing the contract stated that if a player ran out of money or chose not to include their material possessions in the game, they could resort to donating their own organs.

JACKPOT was a business, but a profitable one. All the money collected from the games was donated to children in need and to people who wanted a new beginning, those who wished to earn an honest living and, in turn, help others. JACKPOT had a contract with the city’s hospitals, and whenever a patient required a donor, the casino found a player who could meet the necessary conditions.

The players were divided into social classes, allowing JACKPOT to decide from whom they would receive money, material goods, or even a body. Trent and Kevin had both gambled their own livers, and since Kevin lost the fight, he would be the donor.

The surgeries were performed quickly and discreetly. That was why the casino provided hotel-like accommodations, not only to protect the donors’ health but also to increase their chances of becoming donors in the first place.
