Zeke, Lara, and Trent met at a table to discuss forming an alliance, as well as the ways in which they could earn money if they were to become a trio.
Trent was willing to accept, especially since Lara had approached him and rewarded him with a modest sum for the show he had put on. That gesture was enough to convince him to join them and talk about what was coming next. Everything was decided: the three of them would take as much money as possible from the games and make history by shutting down the casino. Trent would fight again for money, Zeke would play SlapJack, and Lara would be the dealer at a poker table.
Everything seemed to be going according to plan. Lara received a generous tip with every win, Zeke managed to hold his ground, and Trent was busy knocking down as many opponents as possible — often with moves that were far from legal. Everything was going well, or at least that’s what they wanted to believe. In reality, the only one generating real profit was Lara. Zeke was testing the games and observing the opponents as much as he could, while Trent was simply satisfying his urge to hit someone.
After a few hours, the trio met again at their table and threw everything they had earned onto it, excluding the initial budget they had brought into JACKPOT. For an amateur, Zeke was surprisingly good. He had never been known for the fortunes he made from gambling, but rather for his desire to understand and observe every trick that took place in casinos. He was known for the way he smiled every time he lost a game — especially if there was something to learn from it.
Lara had once been part of a group of elite players, and every time she entered a casino, she left with her pockets full. At least, that was true before JACKPOT. Trent, on the other hand, wasn’t a complicated man. He was often thrown out of casinos and banned after getting involved in stupid fights. JACKPOT was his last option.
