Tars, a black-green dragon from the alternate future frustrated by what his parents left him with - not being able to fly - made a breach in the sky, connecting his universe with the main world.

Through the breach, Team Sonic's counterparts got into the main world. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles from the alternate future were different than their equivalents:

• Sonic had lost his material body due to a scientific accident and was seen as a hologram;

• Tails wore some kind of orange-blue armor, covering his head and containing his own gadgets;

• Knuckles had broken the Master Emerald into pieces and made a skateboard out of it; he focused on his agility rather than strength.

To avoid the risk of meeting them, the mainline Team Sonic came with an obstacle. They put on a laser field. Alt Sonic could easily pass through, but not the rest. Alt Tails connected himself with the computer controlling the lasers, trying to hack it. It was a long process and Alt Knuckles grew impatient. He decided to beat the laser field himself. The echidna cut his skateboard into two, making some kind of roller skates. Alt Knuckles took a deep breath, put his green sunglasses on and walked into the field. He avoided the laser beams perfectly. The echidna's moves were so smooth he looked like he was dancing.

Cyrene, a lovely ice-cream colored dragon from the present, felt worried about what was happening. She found Tars and told him that despite having a similar impairment, she wasn't angry at the world. The girl wanted to show him that it's possible to look at things from different perspective. One wing wasn't a flaw, it was a unique trait. Cyrene proved to Tars that there's always a way to enjoy life. She opened his eyes and heart.

Tars developed feelings for Cyrene, but she knew he didn't belong in her world. The black dragon said:

- You're my better half.

- You're already a whole, silly. You don't need another half.

Cyrene's words were saddening and heartwarming at the same time. Tars felt sad, but he understood.

The two decided to mend the breach together. They embraced each other in a way that they could coordinate their wings' movement. Helping each other, Tars and Cyrene managed to get up in the air. They repaired the breach, each on their side - in result, they had to be separated...
