On Check XIX: Middle's Cool
Navy used to be a middle schooler. Once, their class went for a school trip. Near the place they stayed, there was a stream. Navy and her female friend decided to take a boat. However, they didn’t know there was a waterfall. When the two girls saw it, it was too late. Their boat stuck on a rock just above the waterfall. The girls cried for help.
The rest of the class found out that someone was missing. They rushed to help, but had no clue how to reach the girls. Then, an usually quiet boy spoke:
- Everybody, grab each other’s hands. Make a chain. We will carefully step into the stream.
The class followed his advice. The strongest went into the water first. At the front of the chain was Thadek the fox. Finally, he grabbed one of the girls' hand and passed her on. Then he saved Navy, winking at her.
The rescue mission succeeded. Navy thanked everyone. She was especially grateful to one person. It wasn't Thadek, though. She didn't mean any of the boys who built the chain, either. The classmate Navy was looking for was the one who came up with the idea. She found Angstrem and hugged him.

Thadek and Kuru were middle schoolers. Being a bully, the fox stole Kuru’s lunch many times. The raven deduced that Thadek couldn’t afford food. She prepared a sandwich for him. When the fox took it away, Kuru got another of her bag and smiled kindly. That creeped Thadek out so much that he stopped bugging her.
Another time, Kuru was sitting on a grape vine. The fox approached to get some fruit, but it was too high. He gave up. Kuru said that he just needs to ask. His ego didn’t let him, but empty stomach did. The raven handed him some grapes. Eventually, they came to terms with each other.
