It wasn't long before Batman and Nightwing had the warehouse cleared, radioing Demi and Cyborg to approach without being detected. As they entered the warehouse, it let off a weird vibe, like weirder than usual.

Demi: Something already seems off...

Cyborg: I'm not detecting a generator underground like the rest. 

Nightwing: We'll find it. If it's here.

Batman was off on his own, scanning the containers for anything unusual.

Cyborg: Let's spread out, maybe we can--

An explosion can be heard outside the warehouse. Next thing they know, someone big crashes through the window, falling onto Batman, who managed to evade his blow before he landed. As the dust settled, it was revealed to be Bane, a psycho rampaging chemically enhanced brute.

Batman: Bane.

Bane: The Batman. I see you've brought some subjects for my test!

Batman: Where's Black Mask?

Nightwing sent out an SOS to the remaining allies back in the Manor.

Demi: Don't think he wants to talk, Bats. 

Bane: Ah, finally. Someone with sense to fight! This new drug is making me feel... INCREDIBLE!

He activated his Titan drug, along with that new energy the team had been after for a while. He grew bigger as his muscles tensed up even more than before. A tank then stormed through the doors, armed and ready to kill.

Cyborg: We're outnumbered!

Batman: Demi! Take out Bane! We'll handle the tank!

Demi: Wait, what?!

Nightwing: Don't worry! The others will be here soon!

Batman, Nightwing, and Cyborg then fell back to handle the tank, leaving Demi to the walking dumb brute.

Demi: No pressure... Alright, big boy. I'll give you a fight!

Bane then screamed in rage as he charged towards Demi, grabbing him by the leg and throwing him out into the street.

Demi: Great... 

He cracks his neck before Bane lands in front of him. Demi quickly pulls out his sword and engages Bane in combat. Bane was strong, and that energy flowing through him wasn't making the battle any easier. But Demi knew he had to be quick and think of a plan before getting squashed.

Bane: You cannot win!

Demi: Oh my god... why do they all say that?

Demi noticed that those tubes on his body were transferring the energy into him. He realized cutting them was the most logical option right now. So, as Bane made multiple charges at him, he quickly jumped over Bane and cut one tube at a time. 

Even though he eventually cut all the tubes, Bane was still enraged with that energy. He angrily slammed Demi into the ground, then punched him repeatedly. Demi was blocking with his arms, but the punches were too strong.

Bane: Insolent child.

Before he made a grand slam to end him, he got shot by a beam from the front. It was Raven, saving him yet again.

Demi: groans Thanks...

He slowly gets up, recalls his sword, and readies back up.

Raven: We can take him down together.

Demi: You're right! But I've already cut those tubes!

Raven: We'll knock him out! I'll get his attention! You can get in close then!

She quickly soars up and starts firing at Bane.

Demi: Roger that!

He quickly got in close and started damaging Bane, delivering light and heavy hits, putting him on his knees.

Demi: Raven! I need altitude!

She quickly grabbed his hand, lifted him, and let him go to lunge downward to Bane.

Bane: What?!

Demi: This is gonna hurt...

Demi delivered a furious kick to Bane's face, knocking him out to the ground.

Demi: Damn, he lost the battle and the memory. Couldn't be me!

Raven landed next to him, patting him on the shoulder.

Demi: Hey! Nicely done!

Raven: Right...

Demi: We made a pretty good team, you know...

Raven: Yeah...

They looked at each other briefly, acknowledging their teamwork and trust.

Nightwing: You guys okay?!

Nightwing soared down to them, breaking their stare.

Raven: We're fine.

Demi: That was good timing on the arrival.

Bane started groaning, trying to recover from that kick. Batman landed on top of him instantly.

Batman: Where's Black Mask?

Bane: Ugh... the... the church... 

He passed out before he could finish his sentence. Batman then stepped off him.

Nightwing: The church? Which one?

Batman: There's one not far from here. Let's move!

He quickly grappled up to a perch and headed for that church.

Nightwing: Demi, head back to the Manor.

Demi: What, I'm good...

Raven: Look at you. You're all beaten up.

Nightwing: Raven, can you get him back?

Raven: Sure.

Nightwing: You rest up, okay? We got it from here.

He took off with Batman and the others.

Raven: I'll get us back to my room.

Demi: Ow...

She opens a portal to her room. 

Raven: Sit down on the bed. Take off your shirt so I can see how bad it is.

Demi sat down, took off his robe and shirt, revealing the large bruises on his body.

Sam: He was a toughie...

Rachel then walked in without her cloak and sat down next to him to start the healing process.

Rachel: You're lucky I got there in time. He could've--

Sam: But he didn't... I can handle myself. I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone else

Rachel: Can you please not worry about others and focus on yourself for once? I don't understand how hard that is to do right now.

Sam: What? Isn't that what we do?

Rachel: You have to take care of yourself, too! I can't stand watching you get hurt like that!

They were silent for a bit. She was finishing up the healing process.

Sam: I'm sorry... I... didn't mean to make you or... anyone else worry...

Rachel: I'm sorry too... I just... I can't afford to lose anyone else right now...

Sam then leaned in and hugged her tightly. She was shaken for a second but hugged him back.

Sam: I get it... I don't want to lose anyone else either... but I need to keep doing this...

He moved back a little to look her in the eyes. They were close to each other.

Sam: I'll be honest... When I first got here, I didn't know how to take this responsibility as I had back home. All the other Titans made me feel... small. But then I met you on the roof. It was like a light flickered on. You showed me that I can work with others. And... you also showed me how... to love...

Rachel was shocked in that moment, blushing. She has never heard such a sweet comment like that in her life.

Sam: You... won't lose me... I promise...

He lets her go to give her space to breathe after that.

Sam: Um... thanks for the patch up... I'll leave you be--

She turns his head to him and pulls him in for a kiss. It was unexpected, but sweet. He kissed her back.

Rachel: Sam... I love you too. I have for... a while now. For most of my life, I've... tried to fight the same evil that lurks in my father. I thought it was all I could live for now. But you helped me see that there's more to life than that. Actually... you were the light that flickered... 

Sam too started blushing after that comment. They both see the love for each other that most wouldn't see in this cruel world. And with that, they kissed again. They stayed like that for a little bit before connecting their foreheads.

Sam: If that didn't break the internet, I don't know what will.

Rachel chuckled again at his enthusiasm, comforted by his presence.

Sam: Well, uh... what now?

Rachel: Now you need to rest.

Sam: Guess I can't say no to that.

She lies him back into her bed and snuggled up next to him, hitting the light with her powers. His presence to her was a feeling she hadn't felt in a long time; it comforted her even more to feel this way, and Sam was feeling the same thing. And with that, they drifted off to sleep, knowing they'll be there for each other now more than ever.
