J- Oh boy, guys, "bad" and "sad" are used in a prophecy for the 80th time.

Chapter 1

Medic den

Present

“Glowing!” Defend called out to the fox, who was silently placing herbs back into their normal places.

“Hey, Defend! How was practice today?” Glowing asked, always happy to see her best friend.

“The usual… except when a Pack Dog came here! I killed it!” Defend smiled.

L- A strong start. Love that.

J- Wait, what's the usual?!

“I’m so happy for you! That should show the Pack Dogs who’s boss!” Glowing smiled back.

“Glowing, dear? Can you help me sort the gems? Your brother is on watch again.” Follower asked, she was Glowing’s mother, a brown-red fox with a purple gem on her belly.

“AGAIN? Gracious ALWAYS is on watch!” Glowing complained.

M- Goodness Gracious! Haha.

“Defend? Go take your patrol out for hunting.” Celeste ordered.

“Yes, leader.” Defend dipped her head in acknowledgement, “Well, sorry, Glowing, I guess we all have something to do… sorry..”

“Fine…” Glowing sighed at the sight of her friend walking away with Aidan, Traveler, and Cure.

The truth is…

Glowing always wanted to fight.

But when she learned that her power was healing, then she was stuck in the medic den.

Well…

SOMETIMES she’d watch Defend and her family train.

M- That doesn't do anything for HER, though.

Yet Forest Stream and Serenity became healers though their power was shapeshifting.

Different sayings would go through Glowing’s mind when she would dream about being in a war, and she was fighting. It’s like Defend wasn’t there! 

“Glowing! Attack Kek!”

“Yes, leader!”

L- "Glowing, he's fatal, quick!"

“Glowing! We won!”

M- "GLOWING, EARTH TO GLOWING..."

“Glowing! You’re our best fighter!”

L- "Is... Is she seriously asleep?"

Glowing smiled through the day imagining.

J- "GLOWING, YOU'VE KILLED HIM!"

Then, she couldn’t have any more.

She went outside the puddle, and she went to the beat up, old, training dummy.

“Let’s see if I can do this…” She mumbled, and slashed the dummy.

No scratch.

It just got bandaged up.

L- Aww, the dummy got a boo boo!

“STUPID HEALING POWERS!” Glowing cursed under her breath.

M- I now believe that kissing the boo-boo is part of Glowing's powers.

“Glowing?”

Oh shoot. Thought Glowing Gracious!

J- (a la Glowing) "HOLD ON! I'M KISSING THE BOO-BOO!"

“Yes, Gracious?”

“Hah, wait ‘till MOM hears this…”

“NO! GRACIOUS, DON’T TELL MOTHER!”

“Glowing?” Asked Follower.

ALL- AHH!

“Mother, I can explain-”

“THIS IS EXPLAINED ENOUGH!

L- Oh. That was easy.

GO SORT THE HERBS! YOU ARE A HEALER! YOU KNOW THAT!” Shouted Follower.

Chapter 2

Medic den

Present

“So, daddy…” Glowing looked at a shattered gemstone of her father’s. “I got in trouble again.”

L- Oh God oh God oh God not another dead parent communication through an object thing again...

FLASHBACK

“Daddy! Pack Dogs!” Glowing shouted.

“Glowing, get Gracious to the medic den so you guys can heal! I’ll find Delicate!” Lake, her father, shouted back.

“Glowing!” Shouted Gracious in the grasp of a Pack Dog.

Jay pounced on the Pack Dog

J- Who?

just in time for Gracious to heal in the medic den.

“NO! LAKE!” Follower screamed as Lake was fighting Death,

M- Who?

and Death shattered Lake’s gem, and stabbed his chest.

“DADDY!”

ALL- WHO?

“And apparently this is MY fault. If it weren’t for that stupid healing power, then I’d be with Defend!” Said Glowing, holding back tears as memories of her father faded into view.

“And now GRACIOUS is a scout! It’s not fair, daddy!” Shouted Glowing.

J- (a la Glowing) EVERYTHING SUCKS!

L- The crystal will do absolutely nothing for that, hon.

Silence.

All she would hear 8 years ago would be, “I promise everything would turn out great, my little ‘light.”

“And here I am talking to a stupid CRYSTAL.” Glowing mumbled, throwing her father’s remains across the den.

M- That's gonna be a pain to clean later.

“Hey, Glowing.” Defend said at the entrance, “Forest Stream wants to go searching for new herbs with you. I heard that the Clan Cats have moved near the Pack Dogs so we got new land.”

“I’m sorry, but ask Delicate if she can go. I’m currently sorting herbs for my mother, so…” Glowing shrugged.

“Nah, c’mon.” Defend said.

“Oh, fine.” Glowing said with a forced smile.

L- (a la Glowing, giddy) "I guessss..."

Chapter 135: SON #2- Chapter 3-5

Chapter 3

Forest 

Present

“And you said Forest Stream was coming…?” Asked Glowing.

They’ve been waiting for…

Hmmm….

5 minutes?

Defend laughed, “You really thought I’d invite you to get new herbs with my LITTLE SISTER? No way. I came out here with you to…” Defend paused, getting some familiar moss coverings from behind a rock. “... Make new memories?”

M- ("This is gonna be good!") Oh YES, they're gonna kiss!

Glowing smiled.

J- (a la Glowing) "Pucker up, buttercup!"

They were playing WAR!

L- That... Ends with a kiss, perchance?

Glowing and Defend both put on the old moss coverings and went on the rocks.

“Wait, what were our names again?” Asked Defend.

“I think YOU were Pure, and I was Kek.” Glowing said.

“Alright! I, PURE, AM TIRED OF YOU PACK DOGS ON OUR TERRITORY!” Defend shouted, turning into the Clan Cat leader, Pure.

“I, KEK, AM TIRED OF YOU CLAN CATS ON OUR TERRITORY!” Shouted Glowing.

“WAR!”

“YES, INDEED!”

J- Well, hey, at least they can all agree on something.

Glowing and Defend went to “war” and they started fighting hard.

Yet…

Well, Defend won a LOT, but it was hard, because Glowing had healing powers.

“HA! TRY TO HEAL FROM THAT, KEK!” Shouted Defend.

“You are pathetic.” Said Glowing, healing her eye scar.

“You are more trained than you were when we were young.”

“Advantage moi.” Glowing smiled smugly.

“Ohohohoho…” Defend chuckled, morphing into herself again. “IT’S ON.”

L- (a la crime show) "And that was the last anyone heard from Glowing."

Chapter 4

Clearing

An hour later

“And-and then you did- BWAHAHAHAHAHA!”

L- (laughing, confused) Whaaat?

Glowing laughed so hard, that her belly gem started glowing.

“AND THE- AHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

L- (confused) What.

Defend laughed hard.

L- (frustrated) WHAT?

The two BFF’s were reflecting on the funniest parts of their childhood.

“Defend? Oh there you are.” Serenity padded toward the two friends laughing away.

“Yes, mom?” Asked Defend.

“Follower needs Glowing. Luni Jr. is acting weird.”

M- Luni Jr?

L- Main character reincarnated a dead bird.

J- I won't ask any more questions.

“As in what?” Glowing asked.

“Come and see.”

Serenity trotted toward the medic den, her nice yellow fur ruffled from either surprise or nervousness. Glowing couldn’t figure it out.

The two Gemlights appeared in the medic den entrance

Luni Jr.’s gemstone was glowing, and this black spot moved around inside the gem.

“My… Precious… Baby…. Luni, what is wrong with him?” Quivered Bright.

J- Sorry, WHO?

It seemed as though the only thing the leader Gemstar spirit could do was nothing.

ALL- WHAT? WHO? WHEN? WHERE? WHY? HOW?

Luni Jr. gasped for air

Glowing quickly ran to the rocky shelves of the medic den.

Cobwebs? No… Basil? No… Sage? No! What could it be? Though Glowing nervously. Her brows shot up, and she gathered some spare gemstone crystals.

“Don’t freak out…” Glowing reassured Luni Jr.

Glowing stabbed a crystal into the young pup’s gemstone,

J- Uh, OW?

M- Murdering while wild and free!

and managed to actually stab the spot. Glowing repeated this action many times, but it was not like a stray pack dog.

It was like it was invincible.

“I don’t get it…” Sighed the red fox. She attempted to heal Luni Jr. with her powers. “WHAT? WE’VE TRIED EVERYTHING.” Growled Glowing.

“Maybe it’s…” Defend said hesitantly.

“What? Who?” Asked Bright.

“He-who-shalt-not-be-named.” Defend guessed

L- (groaning) Did George have to write himself into the story?!

“No. Impossible. Luni was a gift. He must have- oh.” Bright said.

L and M- WOLF COURAGE?

“WE DON’T TALK ABOUT HIM!” Follower called from the room over

J- Who, Bruno?

M and L- JOEL!

J- Sorry, sorry, sorry...

“Maybe J-” Gracious started before Glowing shoved him

“NOT IN FRONT OF CHILDREN!” Glowing shouted.

“Is there anything wrong?” Asked Celeste, trotting in with a worried Gray by her side.

“Luni Jr. is acting weird. We think it’s-” Glowing started, but went to Celeste and whispered in her ear, “He-who-shalt-not-be-named.”

M- Okay, cut to the chase, who?

“That is a possibility…” Sighed Celeste

“WAIT! WE NEED LIMESTONE!” Shouted Gray.

“Yes?” The short wolf asked

L- Shorty!

“We need Glowing to see He-who-shalt-not-be-named.”

J- WHO?

“What? N-no. No. Not possible.”

L- OH MY GOD, WHO?

Glowing said

Limestone pressed her paw on Glowing’s forehead anyway.

Chapter 5

???

Present

A black eagle spirit circled Glowing curiously

Specks of red fled off of the spirit’s fur.

Glowing’s eyes filled with horror

“Jay?” She asked hesitantly

M- Well, who the hell is Jay?

Faint disoriented whispering filled the space around the two

Finally, a rugged croaked voice spoke

“Yes.”

“What are you doing?”

The whispering started again

“Trying to get out.” Jay finally said.

“Luni made his nephew out of you?”

L- Bam. Dead bird.

J- Ah.

“It seems as though, yes.”

“I think it’s time for you to be soul-crushed.”

Glitched laughter escaped from Jay’s mouth, “I don’t think that’ll be nesicarry.”

L- Confronting the dead isn't easy. But Grammarly can help.

He said, “I’m invincible.”

J- Inevitable, you mean.

“I’ll be the lead healer one day.” Glowing said

“Is that what you really want?” Jay asked, “Or are you following miss Follower?” He asked again, more mischievous, “Wouldn’t you like to know the soul they made you out of?”

“I’ll take my chances, thanks.” Glowing growled.

A faint I can’t do this was heard.

“Limestone. I should’ve known.” Jay said

“No, no… That doesn’t sound like Limestone.” Glowing observed

Wait…

That’s Luni Jr.

L- And... What?

M- What?

J- What?

ALL- What?

Chapter 136: SON #2- Host Segment

Joel: I think I'm starting to get a hang of this whole book-riffing thing.

Mike: We started this a long time ago.

Lexsi: Well, what Joel means is you just need to know what to expect.

Joel: Exactly. Such as... The main character will always be a misunderstood female dog of some sort.

Lexsi: Or cat.

Joel: Or cat.

Lexsi: And this main character is always the most dislikable thing ever.

Joel: Well, sure. Some of them are moody-

Lexsi: -Moody... Uh, stubborn-

Joel: -Stubborn, yeah, yeah... And sure, you have the occasional racist...

Lexsi: Can't forget the racist...

Mike: Woah, so we just need to pay attention to the repetition of these stories?

Joel: Exactly.

Mike: Like how we won't have any idea who these characters are unless Lexsi tells us?

Lexsi: And I can tell all day.

ALL: WE GOT STORY SIGN!

Present

“LUNI JR!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!” Glowing shouted

“He can’t hear you. You heard his thoughts, I think.” Jay shrugged, then continued to punch the walls of Luni Jr.’s gem.

“DON’T!” Glowing shoved the eagle to the side. “No wonder you have no hatchlings! You should know that a cracked gem for young gemlights is bad and unhealthy for them!”

M- You didn't know that five seconds ago when you were STABBING HIM BRUTALLY.

“Never had a hatchling, never will. Not in the state I’m in.” Jay said.

Suddenly, the room began to spin…

“JAY!!’ Glowing shouted, her screaming became real as she woke up in the den.

“Shh! Glowing! Calm down… What did you see?” Limestone asked

“Jay… Luni… Gem…. Harm…” Glowing huffed

“Glowing… I need you to breathe in and tell us slowly, what happened?” Asked Follower

“JAYISINLUNIJR.’SGEMANDHEPUNCHEDITANDLUNIJR.IS THINKINGOFGIVINGUP!” Glowing shouted all at once

L- Forgot a period there, must've really been in a hurry.

“So Jay was made into Luni.” Defend said

“Jay’s getting stronger! My poor baby!” Bright wailed

“It’s ok, Bright. Go into your den, and we will make sure Luni Jr. is alright.” Follower suggested

L- Woah, EVERYONE'S forgetting a period.

“WHY? I HAVE ANOTHER PUP COMING AND I CAN’T LEAVE!” Bright yelled

L- WHAT?

M- (exasperated) We can't win. We seriously can't win.

“AND YOU’RE TELLING US NOW?” Shouted Follower.

“Me and Aidan wanted to wait until a good time. But, I just think that this is a good time because my poor baby is getting attacked.” Bright protested

J- Uh, yeah, no, not a good time.

“WARNING! WARNING! GEMCORES! GEMCORES!” Shouted Snow and her twin, Rock.

“What?” Celeste asked urgently.

“There's these Gemcores and they are outside!” Rock explained

ALL- WHO?!

“ALL GEMLIGHTS! THE GEMCORES ARE RISING!” Celeste announced, “YOU KNOW YOUR STATIONS! GO!”

L- So basically, hell on Earth.

J- Perfect timing, everyone, take five.

L- I know, right?

Chapter 7

Battlefield

Present

Glowing took a deep breath and darted out of the puddle

She had never been outside the cave in a battle.

“GLOWING! HERE! DEFEND IS INJURED!” Called Gray

Glowing quickly shifted from her gaze to her wounded friend.

She ran toward her and started the process of healing.

Defend’s wounds, though, were too badly infected.

M- So you're just giving up?

L- No, this is a perfect strategy, Mike, she's jealous of Defend so she's making excuses.

“I GOT YOU, GLOWING!” Traveler shouted. He used his water manipulation to lift Defend from the ground and into the medic den

Glowing dashed to the den and started mixing herbs

“Use your healing.” Said Defend weakly

M- (a la Glowing) "YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"

“I CAN’T!” Glowing yelled

“Concentrate.”

That’s what she did.

Soon, Follower came in with Gray and Snow.

J- Who?

“Here, honey. I’m gonna heal everyone. Get more of the wounded.” Follower panted.

“I’ll help you, Follower.” Said Serenity, quickly getting herbs, “Forest Stream, come help heal your sister, ok?” 

“Fine, mom.” Forest Stream sighed, slowly yet carefully using herbs to heal Defend.

M- Wow, this relationship is pretty fragile if Forest didn't wanna help her infected sister in the first place.

Glowing dashed out into the battlefield and dodged rocks falling from the peculiar red sky.

It seemed as though her healing power was stronger the closer she got to the Gemcores. Glowing then started to heal the ingured and-

CLANK!

The worried fox turned around slowly. 

A familiar grayish pup ws circled around by Gemcores, and his gem had a small black eagle spirit struggling to get out.

“LUNI JR.!”

ALL- PERFECT TIMING! YAY!

Chapter 8

Battlefield

Present

“Luni Jr…” Glowing rushed to the unconcious pup. The gem was cracked.

Glowing quickly used all of her might to hoist Luni Jr. up, and she ran to the medic den

“My baby!” Shouted Bright in pain

“What’s happening?” Asked Glowing

“Bright is giving birth.” Explained Serenity

ALL- (Frustrated) PERFECT... TIMING!!!

“Ah.”

Glowing sat Luni Jr. down and went out into the battlefield again, this time slashing more pelts with courage.
